Rare Kusu fetish from the end of the 19th, or the beginning of the 20th century, in good condition.
At the top of the skull, a receptacle hollowed out to receive offerings is covered with animal skin. On the skin, natural resin was poured.
On the face and body, in the places where the fetish was touched, a deep patina tending towards black and dark red.
Ritual crust is visible on the entire surface of the fetish.
Copper studs are present at the ears and on the forehead. Around the neck, a twisted copper necklace.
As a belt, braided plant fiber.
It should be noted a deep cavity inside its base due to the work of termites.
At the level of the left shoulder, a crack was repaired locally and filled with resin, as was often the case among ethnic groups, when the wood in the hands of the sculptors presented some imperfections. We find this defect on the left side, going from the stomach to its base.
