A female Baule sculpture, Ivory Coast, collected in the region Ahara, standing on a fragmentary base, muscular legs ending in prominent buttocks, a slender torso with a pointed navel, small sagging breasts, narrow shoulders leading to fragil arms carved close to the body, small hands touching the abdomen, the torso is decorated with scarification marks, the cylindrical neck supporting an oval head, a straight mouth, a nose with broad nostrils, round eyes which are bordered all around, spherical ears set very high, further scarification marks on the face and the neck, a long braid hangs down to the back; clear traces of ritual use, an encrusted patina. Certificate of origin and provenance, provenance Belo Mohamed Garba, Korhogo/Ougadougou.
